![]() ![]() If you upload a photo, google compresses it to "High Quality mode" and calculates a hash for it So the idea is different devices can have different quality to upload. In in your browser it might be High Quality. Google has "upload mode" set for each device. You can skip this section if you just want instructions. This is the reason people are complaining they can't upload OG quality once High Quality is uploaded. Posting here just in case some one needs it.įirst, here are my assumptions about how Google Photos detect duplicates and avoid re-uploading duplicates. This question is asked in this sub itself multiple times. So I digged around and the below method worked for me. I searched multiple places and the procedures available are either using 3rd party tools like EXIF or "deleting and re-uploading" which is a PITA when your photos are mixed.
